Sweden here we come: Off to Way Out West!

Oh joy oh joy! We are approaching the highlight of our summer. And it is called Way Out West, Europes most relaxed summer festival.

Imagine a place, where you are surrounded by beautiful (Swedish) people, get served the best organic foods and all your favorite bands play? Yes, this place exists. It comes to life every year in August, in Slottskogen Park in the middle of the West-Swedish music capital Gothenburg. I still get the chills when I think about Way Out West Festival  2011, where no other than Prince played an entire 2 ½ hour gig, sweaty-hairy Fucked Up would get naked on stage and James Blake’s bassline almost broke the windows of the ancient church where he played in.

What strikes me about WoW is that you get to see absolute mega stars perform, as well as the freshest indie acts from overseas plus some amazing Swedish bands that you would not normally get to see upclose.  Therefore, we are excited about the WHOLE  line up of WoW 2012. Trying to focus, we decided concentrate on those bands we would love to see live for the first time. Amongst them Django Django, Kindness, Frank Ocean, John Maus, Thurston Moore, El Perro Del Mar and OFWGKTA. And Marc Lanegan Band. And St Vincent. And Lower Dens, Korallreven and TNGHT. And it does not stop here.

Wanna join tha party? Follow us on facebook, twitter and instagram @ponydanceclyde through the whole festival. And of course you’ll read about our festival experience a few days after just here, on the ponydanceclyde. Woot!

No doubt that Gothenburg’s Way Out West is a great festival. You should also visit Flow Festival in Helsinki, which is rather unfortunately organized during the same weekend. Incredible vibe and great music acts set over four days in Helsinki. http://www.flowfestival.com
