Interview: Kakkmaddafakka – Ask the Kakk with PDC

A little while back we found ourselves (and Thang) dancing happily to indietunes on a sweaty evening at Privatclub. This only happens rarely and can be explained: we had Norwegian boyband Kakkmaddafakka (in all seriousness – they do deserve the term) and their dancers stopping by in Berlin. So it was time to liven up the era of Ask the Kakk – here’s what they said about alternative band names, Bergen/Berlin and Metallica.

PDC: Hej hei! Welcome to our place. We noticed Berlin & Bergen have their first three letters in common. Give me some words starting with these letters to tell us the differences.

Kakkmaddafakka:
B – Bigger
E – Easy to travel
R – really cheap

B – Beautiful
E – Easy to get laid
R – Rainy

PDC: If we went to Norway this year, what event/club/concert venue should we have on our list?

Kakkmaddafakka: Check out Landmark in Bergen! Great venue with a lot of different acts!

PDC: We think Kakkmaddafakka is a pretty random name to come up with. What name would you give yourself (you as a person) if you could choose any?

Kakkmaddafakka:

  • Pish
  • Big P
  • Puff Puff P

PDC:  In your next life, in what kind of a band would you play?

Kakkmaddafakka: I would like to join Metallica.

PDC: Does the Kakk have groupies?

Kakkmaddafakka: Yes, they come and go! But they are nice girls!

PDC: What’s your personal highlight of 2013?

Kakkmaddafakka: To realease the record “Six months is a long time”!

PDC: Your last ‚ask the kakk’ is almost a year ago, a fact that we find kind of sad …

Kakkmaddafakka: Yes, we didn’t do many ‘ask the kakk’ in the last months cause we were busy with our new album. But I promise we will do one in the near future!

PDC: Think of a question you would love for people to send in.

Kakkmaddafakka: How much do you work out?

PDC: We’re looking forward to your new album! What song are you most proud of? What song is best to turn a bad mood into a good mood?

Kakkmaddafakka: We are really proud of every song on the album but the one that makes the good mood must be Young.

PDC: What’s your favourite Norwegian pop song ever?

Kakkmaddafakka: Opus x – Loving You Girl

PDC: The perfect song for a roadtrip – not necessarily Norwegian?

Kakkmaddafakka: Willie Nelson – On The Road Again

Ok, that last one was obnoxiously obvious. In any case: make sure you catch Kakkmaddafakka this festival summer, they have a real dance-ready fanbase. Check out their album teaser below, it’s funnnnn.
