Friday Favourites: home-pimpin’ and discoballs

On material love.

Internet, here’s my confession: we’re just like most people out there, we want things. Many things, possibly way too many. But let’s not get too caught up in the thought of that possibility … Isn’t a little material love all we need sometimes? I, for one, can’t get over how good it makes me feel inside to look down on a new pair of funny-colored kicks, or on something nice in a frame on my wall. So why not cherish what makes us feel good, right? Be it material love-making to yourself, to friends, lovers or just your inspiration – here are some ideas on things you might want.

ONE – Pine stripe sweater / Mango.

Mango’s take on the pine stripe trend has resulted in a minimal wool-blend sweater with the bold type of pine stripes – and we like that. Also, and it get’s even better at this point, isn’t Alpaka wool the best thing ever when it makes you think of this? Right. SHOP.

TWO – Air Force One Low / Nike

Because my only questions is this: “Why DON’T I have these shoes”? This shoe is a legend, and it will survive all of us hipsters. The sight of this shoe makes me wonder if it could make me feel all “We’re playing bas-ket-baaaaall” – does anyone have thoughts on that?  SHOP.

THREE – Faux Poster “F” / Playtype / Voo Store

It’s not that Berlin offers a noteable number of places that could call themselves ‘concept store’ without sounding somewhat over-stated, but it sure is a fact that Voo Store is our favourite one. Based on Kreuzberg’s vibrating Oranienstrasse, its generous space offers the city’s best selection of magazines, books, accessories, stuff for the home and – duh – fashion. This poster by Playtype is just right to polish up any living room with the marble thing going on and all. SHOP.

FOUR – Candle holder / House Doctor

We all know the Danes can do design, and online shop House Doctor is just another piece of evidence. I predict this is just one of numerous pieces courtesy of the Danish design shop that you’ll find on here: the candle holder comes with an industrial feel that goes just so well with the (involuntarily) missing baseboards in the typical Berlin Altbau apartment. Does it not? SHOP.

FIVE – Gold Glam Backpack / Stylemarks

Stylemarks is a new marketplace for new and Vintage streetwear for friends of all things fresh, based out of Berlin and representing local labels on a daily basis. This gold backpack would make us jump around the streets looking like a giant shiny pineapple-slash-discoball. SHOP.

Now world, take all my money.
