Introducing: BLONDS

This boy-girl duo is one that is in love! …and it definitely shines through in their music: BLONDS is intense, romantic and sultry. To chase their dreams, Cari Rae and Jordy Asher dropped everything and moved across the country from Florida to NYC to record their debut album with producer Nicholas Vernhes (Dirty Projectors, Deerhunter, Spoon). Though they’ve only been together for a year and Cari has never been involved with music before, their music sounds solid and professional like an established band.

Their 6-month love baby (debut album) “The Bad Ones” will be out on August 7th and can already be streamed on soundcloud. I highly recommend you to give the entire thing a listen. My favs are “Amen”, “Run”, “Time”, “Magic” and “Locomotion”. The album has a genuine American sound with its mix of country, jazz, blues and rock ‘n roll. BLONDS brings music back to its roots – soothing hazy rock to enjoy with a bottle of whiskey. It is a love story which will hopefully never end.

Isaac Tichauer – Devotion

Yes. It is finally here. That album that you can simply put on and you have the perfect soundtrack to your sexy nightly rooftop gathering. As we previously reported, Isaac is the new Australian hotness from French Express, just giving birth to his first baby which he worked on the past 6 months. It countains 9 tracks of pure tropical house music, as ethereal and atmospheric as you can only imagine. Sometimes even quite classic. Listen up!

Just Tell Me That You Want Me – A Tribute To Fleetwood Mac

We know these tunes have been dropping the whole summer one by one. But we think it is time to collect our favourite ones so far. Because oh Fleetwood Mac we owe so much to you. Not only are you a legacy, but you are the folk pop we grew up with, your records were played by our parents to rock us to sleep when we were little. Within that respect, it is more than well deserved that Starbucks label Hear Music/Concord joined forces with a bunch of amazing artists such as Tame ImpalaBest Coast, Lykke Li, and MGMT to tribute to this amazing jolly band. Featuring covers of some of the best songs from their entire period of existance. We collected our favourites for you below, and oh PS, we heard there’s a Fleetwood Mac world tour coming up in 2013!

Gardens & Villa – Gypsy

Washed out – Straight Back

Tame Impala – That’s All For Everyone

Out August 14, pre-order the whole thing here and listen to parts of Just Tell Me That You Want Me – A Tribute To Fleetwood Mac already on soundcloud.

Blood Diamonds ft. Grimes – Phone Sex (Jensen Sportag Remix)

Jensen Sportag being one of my fav remixers (just think of that Memory Tapes remix from 2k11!), it came as no big surprise that their rework of Blood Diamonds and Grimes recent collab Phone Sex could get me about 200% more excited than the 90s-feeling original. Grimes‘ breathed purrs are overpowered by heavy bass and the whole thing gets a very laidback vibe of Mediterranean air and summer nostalgia.
